“Teachers who love teaching, teach children to love learning.”
A graduate of CSU Chico with a Masters of Arts and Bachelors of Arts, I am currently beginning a program for a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Visual Arts. I have created art since the early 1990s, training in painting and art history at CSU Humboldt and further developing my technique in both digital media, drawing and painting at CSU Chico. I have exhibited fine art in many galleries and exhibitions since the beginning of my art career.
I began sharing art with children in 2007 when I had a plentitude of experience working in various childcare settings as a young mother, instructing Music Together classes for children, leading art lessons in a state-licensed home daycare, and assisting in my own children’s classroom. In recent years, I enjoyed sharing in the experience with other educators teaching art at an after-school program at Turner Print Museum, CSU Chico and Four Winds of Indian Education. I also assisted in the art department at Chico High School and at CSU Chico, to assist, facilitate and teach art to older students.
